Finished up the heads and cam package and had it retuned. I went with Absolute Speed Stage II heads and a TR224/224 thunder cam.
The car made 431 rwhp and 400rwtq sea corrected.

I could not be happier. Thanks to Jay @ Absolute Speed for working with me to get these heads done quickly and right to my specs.
At 550 the heads flowed 299 & at 600 they were 304!!
Dollar for dollar you can not beat Absolute Speed stage II heads.

hell yeah.... looks like these cheaper heads companies like TEA and AS are catching GTP/MTI fast! Soon they will out number them on the dyno and still be 1000bucks cheaper

MTI/GTP/Absolute Speed/etc all have heads on cars with big peak HP numbers. That doesnt always mean alot. AS heads may be 600-800 cheaper, but some people buy MTI because they dont have the time to stress out over the car. 10 years of building these things for happy customers and a One Lap Of America winner allows some folks to stress out about other things like work or women or .... who knows. THat might be worth 600-800. Besides, MTI installs their own heads too, in Texas, where I think 1/2 of all F-bodies and vettes are ;-)

Absolute Speed seems to be king for great heads for budget price.

Viseral, Why in the world would anybody stress out over putting my heads on the car, unlike other shops that have employees that port there heads, Its only me that puts 110% into each and every head, I put my heart and soul in each head I put out to make sure my customer gets more than what they expected with the faith that there car will be just as reliable as if it had stock heads, I do this becuase its my company, my living and most of all my name

I recieved my heads from absolute about 8 days ago. The flow data was outstanding: Peak 302CFM @ .581 lift. The port work was outstanding...I could even see the marks used for measureing port size. Other than the long wait I am very pleased. Now the motor should be going back in tonight and hopefully it will breath fire this weekend.

Thanks for dealing with my weekly phone calls Jay..and thanks for the extra effort put into these heads.

This is true. Its like having the owner of the company do the work himself. Like Jayson would have to do the heads for MTI, the owner of TEA for their heads. You wont have a employee with a bad day or hangover

Well,

I have a pair of Jay's LS6 heads on my car (320cfm at .600) and I also have been very pleased with the results. He's always taken care of me and gone the extra mile to help me out to make sure my combo would work well. I've ordered a lot of parts from different sponsors on this board and without a doubt Jay stands out by far as being the most helpful and concerned about me and my car. I took a chance early on last year and went with a set of AS heads because of the great price initially, but for the money I ended up getting A LOT more than what others have paid.

Anywho, I don't get anything out of saying any of this it's just my own opinion. You won't be dissappointed with the results.

Congrats to Absolute on the great numbers. You don't need to worry about the quality of MTI's products because the owner and employees take great pride in their work. MTI has built a stellar reputation for itself over the past ten years, so they don't worry a whole lot about the "performance shops" that come and go and the guys that work out of their garage.
