Default what cam only for 02-ZO6

I am considering a 224/.566 to .581/112 LSA cam for my ZO6...I want to gain at least 35rwhp, I want gain from 3000rpm to 6400rpm (not just above 5500rpm), a little lope does not scare me but big cams like the G5X-2 do scare me (daily driver). I will use 918 springs. Already have TPIS headers and about 380rwhp. Will this cam accomplish my goal of 415 rwhp and 385rwtq...Should i consider another grind?

I used comp cams grind # 54-428-11 which specs out at 228/230 .571/.573 on a 112. I have the same mods as u do but also run through cats and use 30lb injectors. The car made 413 rwhp and 387 torque with a 12.6 afr. The peak for horepower was at 6300 and torque peaked at 4800. I'm happy with it-with a underdrive pulley and some fine tuning it should make a bit more.

Thanks for info...I am considering two of Comps XR grinds, 54-426-11 (224/.568/112) and 54-428-11 (230/.573/112)...hoping to hear more testimonials from folks who have used either of these or similar cam specs..

Guys for what it is worth the Z06 does NOT need a cam to get above 400 rwhp. if i only wanted to make 420 ish at the tire and maintain lots of driveabiltiy i would go cyl head route only. Speed Inc's 03 Z06 is at 425 rwhp STOCK cam, their stage 2 LS6 heads, stainless works headers ( same as TPIS), SLP 1.85 rockers and Corsa Ti street system with no cats and no programming yet. you will have about 500.00 more doing cylinder heads than a camshaft.. labor to do a cam in a vette is costly.. more so than heads. not to mention if your in there do a dual roller t chain, ported oil pump and under drive pulley. my car is a DAILY driver... 30 miles to work each way.. the G5x2 on 114 is a very streetable cam for me the idle sounds hellacious.. but if your the type who wants stock type tq curve an after market cam will not give you this. going with rockers, exhaust with no cats and headers will get you very close to 400rwhp without sacraficing your daily drivers manners in traffic. if you want power from stock cubes you will have to make sacrafices. even still... take the money you are going to spend to do a cam and spray it.. look at my sig.. i have a very reliable setup and it runs wicked.. if your dead set on a cam don't be affraid of the G5x2.. JMO... good luck.

Wes
