If you buy a brand new aluminum LS1/LS6 block are the bores finish honed; in other words, can I just buy a balanced rotating assembly with the correct sized pistons, bearings and start assembly?
If no, what machining do I need?

Smoke Ford do you mean line honed or line bored? Because if you bore something you are taking away material instead of cleaning up the surface. Just trying to make sure people get the correct info.

I would have cyl. honed to match pistons and have the line bore checked it should be done when you get it but you have to be sure its right for your bearings.

Nasty:
Thanks....
Don't you usually measure the bores and then order the pistons instead of boring the block to match the pistons?
Since LS1 blocks have a cast-in steal liner that can't be bored a bunch this is an important issue, right?
