Default ok Stock head question

Ok first off I like to tell you the problem Im having. My hp and torque meet at 5250. Then the HP flatline and torque drops. Now I was at a meet last weekend and a guy I know said elmer from ls1 had the same problem till he changed heads. So Im wondering does this make sence? Im making 430rwhp at 5250 threw a th400 and moser 12bolt. Now im starting to think it might not be a program problem.

all dyno graphs will meet at 5252

HP = (torque *RPM)/5252

If this helps explain why your HP stops increasing, If the torque is not increasing or staying the same, the HP will not continue to rise.

Ryan.

But hp flatlines right there it should be peaking at 6200 not 5250.

ur making 430hp with stock heads?? is it a stroker motor? i'd say ur cam was too small, but u wouldn't be getting that hp from a small cam with stock heads...

Are you looking at the dyno sheet from the one in Mechanicsburg? If so sometimes they dont strech there graph to where it should be. i know that my first one there it crossed at like 5000 RPM but when i went up he did soemthing to make it right. just the way his works i guess. so most likely yours is crossing at the right spot.

Ya it crosses right. What im trying to say is it not gaining hp after that spot. It just happens to be at the 5250 mark. YOu know how after you get to your peak hp it like flatlines. Thats what mine is doing at 5200 or so rpms.

ok then, what size cam r u running? if ur running the stock cam yet, then u won't be making power over that rpm, thats about where it peaks... u need a bigger cam to move the power band up, or ported heads... or maybe even ur exhaust is too restrictive, or the turbo's r too small and at their max, or ur injectors r at their max... i'd say something is wrong, i just looked up an old gmhtp mag, where rob raymer 1st did his turbo, and he made almost 500hp from a stock motored single turbo at 7.5lbs of boost...
