Default New to LSX wanyting to build one.... have few questions

I am wanting to build a lsx motor for my lt1 car... anyways I am wanting somthing that can rev high, and take some nitrous abuse and here is what I have thought of tell me what you guys think, Im really new so help me out or tell me what would be better.

5.3 vortech block... rebuilt, forged pistons, good rods, stock crank... not sure how much it can hold..

6.0 heads, good nitrous cam.. ls1 intake,

would like to run 200-250+ wet shot on it...

Why not go with a forged 347 shortblock? You can get them for about 3000 and they will take almost anything you can throw at them. The MS3 will rev pretty high and loves the juice. Any reason for the LS1 intake? You can get an LS6 intake pretty cheap. TSP 5.3 heads are very popular budget heads and give great results. They will also bump up the compression which will help with the drivability of a high RPM cam that you want. Just give TSP a call and they can hook you up with everything I suggested.

dont have 3k to blow on a shortblock... doing most all work myself and trying to stay on somewhat of a budget.... will 6.0 heads hurt a 5.3 or will they be ok?

With the smaller bore of the 5.3 block you wont be able to use very big valves. You can bore a 5.3 block to the 3.9 inch bore of the stock
LS1. Prices for the 3.9 bore pistons shouldn't be much higher if any than the 3.77 bore pistons. 6.0 heads are similar to the LS6 heads but with a biger combustion chamber. So you might try to find a used set of LS6 heads, the casting # on them is 243. The stock LS1 crank is pretty strong. There are people pushing 1000+rwhp on them.

You might try the nitrous section. You will get more replies there.
