Question Are aftermarket underdrive pulleys known for throwing belts off easy?

i have a ASP underdrive pulley with correct belt sizes it through the belt haaf way off about 5-8 times the past 6 months when i had the stock pulley on it never did that. well the other day i was going down the road and got on it and it started coming off so i popped the hood and checked and found it was ripped from riding on the lip of one of the pulleys.

im using the gatorback belt.

i also have a aftermarket thunder racing tensioner would this be the cause?

let me know what you think to prevent it...

I have never had a problem with mine. You might want to check the alignment of your pulleys you may have not got the pulley on all the way.

My vote is for an out of alignment pulley. I have one of the early ASP pulleys on the stock tensioner and never had a problem with throwing belts.

I agree. The belt should not throw unless a pulley is out of alignment. I would bet the ASP crank pulley is not fully seated. ASP here 4 yrs no thrown belts. Stock tensioner.

Mine was fine until I went road racing. Granted, sustained high RPM is not what you will see on the street or a drag strip. Anyway I caught it (the belt) before it walked off, it was on 2 ribs. March pulley.
