Default After Cam Swap Problems...

What should I expect? I just finished the swap today. Drove it home and it's putting out some smoke. Not a lot, but enough to notice. Smoke color was a blueish gray. The smoke would go away and then come back. Also, car hesitates, like its missing or something, at around 3k rpms in 4th gear. Didn't really notice it in any other gear.

That smoke more than likely, is cause you are burning rich, you will probibly need to change your 02's as you get it tuned.

Your O2's could have been bad to begin with, but now that you have a cam, you will notice them being out. Thats what was wrong with mine, after I changed them and the spark plugs, it doesn't smoke anymore.

I have the old rear 02's from when I took them out after I put my headers in. Would they be ok to use? And they are 5k miles on the spark plugs in there now.

If I am not mistaken, you can't use your rears, cause they are a different type of 02

I bought some Denso's off line, they were here the next day. I ordered the corvette ones, so I would not have to splice the lines.. They worked great.

They're interchangeable, you can use them.

I've been using my rear o2's in the front, for about two years now with no problems at all. Usually if you have a different type sensor your harness plug will be different also, to keep from interchanging

Threw a code today.

P0106....Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit Range/Performance Problem

Is this bad? How can I make this go away? Tune maybe?

Vacuum leak? What size cam? Tuning is almost absolutely necessary on any cam swap.

I'm 99% positive we connected everything back up.
The cam is a TSP 233/239 112 LSA
I planned on getting it tune soon anyway.

That cam is way to big to run on a stock tune and not have problems with it running like crap. Get it tunned and then see how it runs. I also woun't drive it much until you do.

It's been tuned before. So it's not running on a stock tune, but I'd imagine that it's not great for the tune I have now either.

With that cam you are most likely idling in the 55-60 kpa range. That will cause you to throw that code. Your tuner will have to extend that parameter. Also you will probably start getting multi miss fire codes as well, again that will need to be tuned out. Get that car tunned. Those codes won't cause any harm (if they are caused by the cam) but not tunning it could.

The only difference is the length of the wires the O2 sensors are the same.

There are new plugs in there now, but no new wires. Only 31k on the car. Plugs are about 4k old.

Get a tune! My TR224/224 had to be tuned, and with your's being a bigger cam, it definitely needs a tune tailored to that cam!
