There are 2 Ls6 cams and then there is a HOTCAM and the ASA(american speed association) my favorite. All are different, dont get them confused.
2001 LS6 cam
207/217 int/exh @ 0.05" duration
0.525" / 0.525" int/exh lift
116 LSA

2002+ LS6 cam
204/218 int/exh @ 0.05" duration
0.551" / 0.547" int/exh lift
117 LSA

GMPP Hot Cam
218/227 int/exh @ 0.05" duration
0.525" / 0.525" int/exh lift
112 LSA

GMPP ASA Cam
226/236 int/exh @ 0.05" duration
0.525" / 0.525" int/exh lift
110 LSA

I love my hotcam, but if I had to do it over again I would of done the ASA cam just my .o2 cents!

The ASA cam is still a small cam. I have a T Rex and used to DD it with a 6 speed and liked it. If you are wanting a smaller cam it sounds like a good one. But if you are wanting a big slober stick that runs the best times at the track then look for something bigger.

More bang for your buck will come elsewhere, unless you purchase a used hotcam for about $100.

"Oh but a hotcam kit is only $500... thats cheaper than everyone else". True, but your getting a very low lift cam and crappy springs. The extra 89 bucks that you would spend on a kit from TSP would get you good valve springs, PUSHRODS, and ANY cam that you could dream of.

I can call it crap because its what I have now, and what am I doing? Looking for something bigger. I got mine used for $120 bucks, and the springs for $50. BTW you can get the springs new at SDPC for about $50 or $60... or you used to be able to. If this is still true then that means that the Hot Cam itself is costing you about $450. Would anyone spend $450 on a hotcam? If there is anyone that says yes please justify

Yes, because I wouldn't.
