Default Unusual borescope results

I recently had to replace my whipple supercharger on my 4.8L truck after a little over 140K miles. The truck has 266K on it, and the blower was put on at a little over 120K miles. What caught my attention was that the plugs, which had been in since the initial blower install, showed severe detonation on 2 cylinders. This wasn't entirely unexpected, as the original tune with the blower was crap (this was back in 2003, before I started tuning for myself). What WAS surprising is that looking at the pistons showed NO signs of detonation damage. Even more surprising is that I could still see some slight crosshatch pattern in the bores. I'm sure this can't be normal, but has anyone else seen similar results? With over 265000 miles, I expected the bores to be worn to a mirror finish.

Did the motor have any oil consumption? I see about 1/2 to 2/3 of a quart loss betwen 6-8K mile oil change intervals. I just don't understand why this motor seems to be working this well. Especially considering that there is still some crosshatch on the bores, I would expect significantly higher oil consumption. My only guess thus far is that the rings aren't as hard as the bore, and at some point I will experience a catastrophic failure once they wear out. I hope I'm wrong, but I've gotten so much service out of that engine that I really don't care.

How can you not understand why the motor working so well? its an ls based motor but, I am still impressed with that many miles with boost and its still in that good of condition.

Crosshatch is good, but did you find a ridge at the top of the cylinder bores? If not it would appear this motor just just came out of the crate to an uniformed observer. Are you running Mobil1?
