f14 stock tune.
Can this be done? I will hopefully be having it tuned no later than 2 weeks after the install. Is there any potential of harming my car? Also, i will have the stock pulley on the car the time of the install. Is there any advantage from a tuning perspective to have an aftermarket on on there at the time of the tune? In other words, i know i could go back and do it after the cam, but any advantage of doing it before the tune? Thanks in advance...

yeah it should be done prior to the tune, its best to have all the mods done that you have planned on, prior to getting the tune. you will get the best results with this theory. my f15 barely made it home from a friends shop on the stock tune, good luck with two weeks. and it probably wouldnt hurt the car to go the 2 weeks but i would limit your miles and def limit your rpms

Three reasons I can think of to do the pulley first, in order of importance
1) If I'm not mistaken, the pulley is the balancer, so a smaller pulley that slows down the accessory drive will also be lighter. Your idle characteristics could change after the tune, albeit slightly
2) to swap cams, you are going to remove the pulley anyway (unless you already have a two piece timing cover) so why go through all the effort to reinstall the stock one, only to remove it later? To me its one more TTY bolt and a couple more opportunities to risk screwing up the threads in the crank.
3) if your tuner is going to give you a dyno number when he's finished, wouldn't you want your number to reflect the gains of a pulley? I would think yes, especially since your 9" and 4.30's are probably going to cost you a few HP over a stock 10 bolt with 3.42's
As for driving the car untuned, I personally would limit it as much as possible, although I've seen other members post that their stock tune worked just fine with an MS4, in an auto no less. Your car may drive fine, so just use good judgement once you get it running.
Good Luck!

yeah, i guess your right about the idleing characteristics. Could change slightly. Its just one more thing i have to buy now. After buying all this other stuff i am tired of spending $$$. I dont know anything about a pulley. Who makes a reasonably priced good one and the easiest installation?

I would not suggest running the f14 on a stock tune. Especially if you want to give it any more throttle then 2k rpms. The car may end up leaning out and hurt something. That cam will be supplying more air and the mixture plus timing events need to be changed.

werd. I wont do it. The original plan was to cam it, let it sit till my next day off and tow it to allan at futral. But now i want to go ahead and get the ud pulley. And to top **** off i had a blow out on an almost brand new tire. Now i need a new one. And on top of it all, i got into some trouble sat nite. Now i have a shitload of fines and classes to take. I'll never get the damn T/A where i want it! Cam will be here tomorrow too, this sucks

I'm driving my car with an F14 HighLift in in right now (sparingly) untuned. Just enough to get some heat cycles in on the springs before I get it tuned on the 30th though. As long as I let it warm up for a few minutes she drives fine. I'm shifting under 2k ALWAYS and never giving it more than maybe 15% throttle. Not sure what my A/F looks like, I'm probably going to check my plugs tonight just to make sure, but the car does stink of gas at idle.
