I've run SuperTech Synthetic in my DD for the 3 years I've had it and it works great from what I've noticed. Never more than 1/2 quart low after 3000 miles.
It's cheap enough that I still change the oil every 3K. Tell me how its worse to run ST and change every 3K instead of running M1 (which I believe has gone to group 3 synthetic) and change it every 6K. Bobistheoilguy actually found that supertech does its job rather well. And I haven't met many people who can claim to have more knowledge on motor oil than those guys.

Just a heads up for you guys, Pep Boys now also sells German Castrol. I checked and picked up 6 quarts of it myself.

I have used Mobil1 in my Hondas and now in the TA but bought two 5 quart containers to see how it does. First change will be the Honda and run it to the usual 5k mile mark. I will drain it and compare to how Mobil looks when I drain it. Usually a little black but not much.

You would be surprised. The GM oil life monitor is actually pretty complex in determining when the oil should be changed. It takes into account engine temp, and how aggressively the car is driven.

If the back of the bottle has the API symbol, it will work for your car. I've heard that supertech mineral oil is just as good as any "top brand".
A good test would be Supertech synthetic vs. "Top Brand" synthetic in oil analysis to check which one has more additives left in it and viscosity after going XXXX amount of miles.
