Default can i change valve springs b4 i put in my cam??

hey guys, getting ready for a cam swap soon, since i need to change the springs for the cam, i was thinking about changing the springs with the TDC method so i dont mess with the #8 plug (and i just replaced them all) is it possible that i change the springs b4 i tear apart the front for the cam? the reason i ask is because i want to be able to keep the crank pulley and bolt on there so i can crank it with a ratchet! is it possible i do this?

Yeah i don't see why you wouldn't be able to, but when you do your cam swap just put your stock crank bolt back on and just turn it to spin the motor. But if you feel that you wont be able to do the entire swap in the time you have, and want to complete it on 2 seperate occasions i don't see why you can't.

There's nothing wrong with making 2 projects out of it, or just doing the springs first for whatever other reason. Turning it over without spark plugs in it would make it alot easier either way though.
