Re: Anybody dynoed with SLP's H/C package?
i have SLP's on mine with TEA 1.5's and 224/224 114 cam but no dyno numbers though...The tracks my dyno. Some seem to think SLP's dont make the power like others, but i havent seen it on my setup. Hopefully ill have some good et's this fall with the heads
my opinion is all headers are bascially the same.. granted some could make 3-5more hp but no reason to swap SLP's for another brand. Wouldnt be worth the time and money...
I mean i see plenty of cam only cars running in the 11.6-7 range and they have the same cams but different headers. Im right there with SLP's with them so...
anyone with headers other than SLP are gonna tell you theirs are better, while guys with SLP's will say theirs suck. I just think they all are about the same +-4hp

Re: Anybody dynoed with SLP's H/C package?
Only car I have seen with the SLP H/C setup was the weekend before last in Phx. at a car show...
The guy knew absolutely dick about it, and it didnt even sound any different from stock. He did however tell me it was making 406rwhp (yea right). I asked him to race me in my gf's TA, which has a LS6 cam and longtubes, and if be beat me, then we had a few 400+rwhp cars that would like to run...he completely turned tail and wouldnt even talk to us after that.

I think it would depend on which SLP cam; they have two cams, one of them quite mild, the other is much bigger. They used to only sell the small one outright and saved the big one for their stroker motor, but now they will sell you either one of them. Their heads CNC ported and are known for being OK but not fantastic.

Re: Anybody dynoed with SLP's H/C package?
I asked SLP about it last year. Given SLP high hp claims I expected them to say 400+ or 425+ etc .........
And their Longtubes are worth 40 horspower and 1/2 second in the quarter mile
Oh yeah - and they fit just right too

one reason you dont see many SLP H/C setup cars is because their are headers out there coated for 400-500 bucks now
i love my SLP's and im not switching them for anything.. Supposedly someone just swapped their SLP's for something else on here and was getting dynoed. I havent seen any numbers yet so i dont know if he gained or loss HP with the switch

I just swapped my SLP's and picked up the new edelbrocks. I'm picking them up from the sand blaster today and coating them tonight and tomorrow. I'll have them on Thursday and hopefully smack it on the dyno sometime next week.

I know they had this cam: 234/228 .576/.571 114lsa
in at least December of 2001 because it was in a magazine article for a stroker they had.

Re: Anybody dynoed with SLP's H/C package?
The current SLP H&C packages make between 405-425 SAE rwhp, depending on vehicle mods.
The heads are:
CNC ported LS1 heads
Manley 2.02 / 1.575 valves
Manley NexTech 1.255 springs
Manley titanium retainers
Milled to 63.5cc chambers
Cam is:
.576 / .571 - 234 / 228
112 CL / 113 LSA
We install and dyno tune them in Toms River, NJ - or you can buy just the heads&cam and install it and tune it yourself.
if i can figure out how to post a picture, i will show a dyno print. Otherwise, email me and I will send it to you.
Best regards,
Brian - SLP
