Default new rings and bearings or not?

ive heard from people around here that when i build my top end of my motor that i should go ahead and put new rings and bearings in the bottem end, but ive also heard that i would be wasting my time that the ls1's bottem end will last a really long time. so now im stuck wondering if i should or shouldent touch the bottem end of my motor. i will be putting in a ms4 cam package this summer. i have 68,562 miles on my camaro and its a 98 any help with this question would be nice

Take the complete short block to a shop to see if they think your rings need replacing. If they do, a cylinder hone should be all that's necessary. Hopefully you don't have any cylinder wall damage because then a slight over bore is best, which obviously requires new pistons AND rings...then bearings.
