1.8 Roller Rockers with 232-234 cam yay or nay?
Hey guys im looking to add a little more power to the car and have been looking into maybe getting a set of these to install on my car .But im Curious as would this be a good addition or not for my setup,Running a 232-234 .595 .598 cam on a 112 lsa.
i have full exhaust ,cam ,intake, pptb, so would i be able to see any advantage with them over my stockers on my setup or would they be un needed. So share some info with me guys,Cause i was thinking on switching to a bigger cam later but if this will provide soem extra hp i may keep the torquer v2.

The 1.8's would bump your lift to .630/.633. Most likely won't achieve any more gains, as you already have more than adequate valve lift. 1.8's do more to benefit guys like me w/ .525/.532 lift prior to 1.8's & .556/.563 after; still not as much as yours on 1.7's.
+1 on the going to 1.7 roller rockers. Especially, if you modify the assembly to an adjustable rocker set up. There will be less valve guide loading & consistent lifter pre-load from valve to valve.

I would highly recommend against it.

What if you used a less aggressive lobe like Thunder racing lobes or comp xe? Could 1.8 rockers be used, say if you want higher lift but not such aggressive lobes for a daily driver.

you could but in reality i would think an xe lobe with 1.8 rockers would be just as hard on parts as say an xer lobe with 1.7s. the more agressive lobes like xfi or even lsk lobes a decent spring should still last quite a while but for dd i personally wouldn't but i'm sure alot do.

It is not the issue of hard on parts, it is the issue of lobe rate (too steep).
And BTW lobe rate of TR is like 50 and XE-R 49 so TR lobes are not that much "softer".
XE is 53.
