Head advice wanted...
We have an LS1.T56 out of a 2002 WS6 trans am in our 67 Camaro. While we are pretty happy with the performance as is, we have an oportunitty to pick up a lightly used pair of Patriot Stage II LS6 heads (59cc 2.055/1.57) for a very reasonable price. Is this a good idea for us? The shortblock is stock, cam unknown, but most likely stock or not much more than stock. The block is an LS6 block, and we do eventually want to run the LS6 oil pump, cam and heads to finish it up as an LS6, but that is a long term thought. Will our little 346 show any real gain going to the Patriots, or should we wait until it is time to rebuild to worry about it?

What are we looking at for compression with these heads? We already are at 10.2 with a stock shortblock and LS1 heads (67cc???) What are we looking at with the 59cc Patriots? WIll this thing run fine on 92 octane? Any Head gasket reccomendations?

I have the 64 CC with the Felpro 4100ths gasket and in theory its supposed to bring it up to 10.7.1.
But I'd look at cam for shure somthing 22X /22X or a little bigger along with a 90 intake and some kind of ram air on that baby you will be pusing 400 + at the wheels no prob. with a good tune of corse.
92 93 octane is fine

Looking around, it would appear that we will be looking at approx 11.1:1 compression. I would think that would be fine for a N/A Aluminum motor running 92 Octane. Cam is in the cards, not looking to go crazy, and really hadn't intended to go with such small chambers, but the deal is to good to pass up if they will still do what we want.
