Default rod bolts and ms4 cam?

my car has 53k miles on it and just installed the ms4 cam and im about to start with in the next couple of days. i here people saying you should change the rod bolts. my question is how many people didnt change them and how long did your motor last and if u have no problems how many miles do you have with the cam? i only plan on putting new more then about 7k on it this summer.

With a 2002 you have the upgraded rod bolts, so i wouldnt waste the time changing them. Just dont rev past 6500 RPM. I have a 99 with weaker rod bolts and when i race i shift around 6500 RPM and havent had a problem yet *knock on wood*

Yea but those are on a timeline and the more power you throw at em, the shorter the life is gonna get. ARP 2000 rod bolts are one of the best out there...

your rod bolts will be fine. some people here local have wasted a couple stock bottom ls1 engines - 01+ motors...the rod stretched and failed. dude has pictures of the bearing cap and rod bolts still on the big end of the rod.

i have no idea the 02 have different rod bolts then previous years. the main reason why i didnt do the rod bolts is because i dont have money for a new k-member and i really didnt feel like taking the old on out just do the bolts. i would like this motor to last me as long as i can get out of it, but if the motor goes then its time for my real setup a 454+lsx motor! so all in all i was just trying to get an idea of what to expect. thanks again everyone! oh yea should be starting the car tonight if all goes well!!!! i cant wait!
