May I ask why you only want to put in an ls6 cam if you are going through all the effort for a cam swap? Also yes the will transfer over you will just need a spring tool which can be bought from a member on here for a great price if you dont have one already. Do a search on tims tool and you should find it, if u cant let me know and ill get u a link.

>>LS6 2002 Z06, 204/218 Duration @ 0.050

I assume you're going small on the cam so you will still pass the smog test in CA. I read that the TR 224 114lsa will pass in CA.

Here is a note from SDPC on the Z06 cam:
"New for the 2002 Corvette, the 405hp camshaft for the LS6 engine option. Please note that this cam has approximately a 0.050" smaller base circle than a stock LS1 camshaft. This smaller base circle will require longer pushrods for applications with stock length valves and no milling for the head surface. It is imperative that you check your pushrod length when purchasing this cam. The 2002 Z06 cylinder heads use a longer valve to make-up this difference!"

You do need longer p-rods if you are using a LS6 cam 02+ on a LS1 valved head.
At least 7.425 but 7.450 will work as well (I prefer 7.425s)

I have a 98 ta. the stock cam duration is .050 and the 02 ;s6 cam is .050

LS6 cam in LS1 motor, either 7.425 or 7.450, I prefer 7.425, because 7.450 puts it a tad over stock preload.
7.400 will be noisy

If you don't have the matching Z06 heads, you may need more spring than the Z06 springs. GM could use those due to the lighter valves installed, if you have the heavier valves in your heads you may want to consider something like PAC 1218's.

why?/
LS2 head is exactly like a LS6 head but with SS valves 2.00/1.55 and uses LS2/LS6 springs.
Those are good till .580 lifts easy

But the LS2 peak RPM is limited to lower than the Z06 cam is going to want to go. If he is installing the cam and wants to run it to the Z06 redline of 6,500 RPM, I don't think those springs will keep up with it.

Hey Buck,

You had talked about eventually going with a bigger cam. Have you decided to do that yet? Lee and I are running special. Hit me up when you are ready.

Also have not seen you out in some time, you going to come out tonight?
