Default 5.3L head questions

Without shaving them what is the compression? Also, wouldn't 11:1 CR be alittle too high for pump gas?

If memory severse me correctly I think you'll be around 10.7:1 with 5.3 heads uncut. Alot of places work on the chambers though & it will kill some compression. We sell Patriot heads with stock or modified chambers depending on the flow needs & compresion needs. Your not planning on running stock 5.3l heads though are you?

Have Fun!

I was told be Jay when I purchased my 5.3 SII's that it would be around 11:1. And no 11:1 is not to high for 93 octane.

5.3's here cut .015" yields 11:1. I think uncut yeilds 10:8:1.... 93 Pump gas is fine for 11:1

Thanks for the info, and nope I am not planning on using stock 5.3's. The valves are too small, I am getting a set ported and shaved.

The compression should be fine. I have 11 to 1 and run fine on 93. No KR etc. Your 227 cam will bleed off the excessive compression at low RPM. Should be fine.
