Default Engine rebuild?????

Basicaly I have a 2000 Trans Am with 155k what parts should i replace i want to keep it street legal and also what kind of price range am i looking at for the rebuild i dont want to put stock parts back in if i can upgrade them. Any one that has done a rebuild will be wonderful to hear there input from.

You and I are in the same boat! I have a 2000 TA with 155K as well.

My plans are replace the stock cast pistons with Mahle forged pistons instead, and use a stock crank and rods with ARP rod bolts. Also a 224/224 cam, dual valvesprings, Ti retainers, pushrods, GM lifters, oil pump, and timing set. Little paint here and there and it'll be a nice little street motor that should still pass emissions.

I'm a machinist/builder though, so i kinda have the hookup...
