cam comparo 228r vs 230/230 600 predZ spec
Im about to pull the trigger on a cam to match a set of PRC 5.3 stage 2.5 heads on my 04 goat. I have 3.91 diff gears in there now and im trying to decide which cam i should use. Ive talked with texas speed a ton about it and theyve been really helpful, and will grind me any cam id like at no charge (which is awesome).
so im looking at these 3 actually, one is just an updated 228r with more lift.
1 - 228r @ 112 with 605/595-600 lift
2 - Pred Z spec'd 230/230 600/600 111+1
3 - regular 228R
and sort of a dark horse 4th cam
4 - 232/230 600/600 111 xer lobes. kind of came up with this one by combining the specx of the X1 with some healthier duration and lift, and less LSA.
so... with that said, what do you guys think ?
also, i dont want to flycut pistons at all, i plan on spraying a little down the road, and i drive it every day around town, but dont mind a slightly rough ride.
looking for monster mid range with it pulling like a madhouse from 4000+, shifting at 6500rpm max.

1 graph is all you need, duplicate the setup and you will get the same results.
It is one of the strongest all around cams I've ever seen, first was the TR224, then came TSP 228R, and to top them all The "El Toro", the " Bull" cam
