Default MTI Stealth Cam vs. z06 Cam

I've been debating which cam to go with that is stealthy enough I can keep my warranty.. get the best gains at the same time be a good daily driver cam.

also i've been told with a high lift cam you might need to change springs every 12k miles or so.. is that true? the steath cam has pretty high lift.. .581

i'm not really an expert to say if there is a noticable lope with the mti cam
I just noticed this sound clip on MTI's website of the Stealth cam at Idle: MTI Stealth Cam Clip

only dyno numbers i've found from the stealth cam is 405rwhp but that vette had heads as well.. plan to leave stock heads for now.. from ls6 cam i've seen mainly 360rwhp area.

Post this in the internals forum.

It's getting more common to see ZO6 cammers putting high 370's to the wheels.
That Stealth cam looks wicked. Springs will be changed periodically, but man, that would be the cam I would choose out of the two.

Either way, you're gonna see warranty issues when the time comes to claim. It depends how well, if any, a relationship you have w/ your service manager.

Hi Kirk,

What else do you plan on doing to the car?

You can do a lot of mods without cracking the motor open, that's really what dealers don't like, well other than NOS.

There have been several cars over the past couple of years that get 360-380 rwhp on bolt-ons alone. Have you considered that route?

I'll be at MTI Sat. from 12-2pm, if you want to see/hear my car then try to drop by!

Nope, mine is Bowling Green(Dark Green) and it sounds good, too, just like a stock vette!

I'm sure it does. MTI does great things.

Thanks guys.. Randy i can't stop by saturday.. i do live in houston but i've got to make a trip up to dallas this weekend.. oh well i'll try to catch ya'll another time..

SouthFl02SS: it really depends on how often periodically is.. vs the ls6 cam i could just leave in w/ the ls6 springs.. if the mti cam means changes out springs once a year.. i think i'll go w/ the z06 cam.. not worth all that extra hassle for an extra 15-20rwhp to me.

I just installed a z06 cam and LT's a couple of weeks ago. I will be dynoning again within the next couple of weeks. I will let you know how it works out. Personally I think that it is possible to hit 385 with the zo6 cam, as long as you have all the other bolt ons, like pullies and ported TB and stuff. It is a great sleeper cam, but with the cut out open, I do hear a slight lope.

Numbers in sig for my setup with the LS6 cam. I think that with a cutout 380+ rwhp is definately possible.
