Default Needed to finish long or short block?

I'm sure the is a stupid question to most of you but what is needed to finish of a longblock to make it ready to run? And the difference between a short and long is that the long comes with heads and a cam? Thanks.

intake, injectors, rails, sensors, pan, ALOT. A longblock is just a shortblock with heads

shortblock-crank,rods,pistons,oil pmp,timing chain,covers front and back.someone chime in correct me if Im wrong.
