Default 228'/230 .571"/.573" 112.....concerned :(

I am not sure if this cam is going to be to big clearance wise to fit my motor..I have TEA S2 5.3's not milled bairly at all i think it was .001 anyway's...with the 228 intake duration and the 2.02 intake valve..is that a mixture for contact of piston to valve..or u think it will clear? I am pretty sure it will fit..but dont want to find out the hard way btw i have 987 dual's in the head's so that should be enough spring pressure right? thank's

Sounds like you'll clear to me. If your heads were only milled for cleanup purposes you SHOULD be just fine, but it's always a good idea to make sure with any sizeable cam because specs are different from grind to grind. If you're going to risk it and not check, atleast turn the motor over by hand first to make sure everything seems to be moving smoothly.

If the heads were not milled you should have plenty of clearance with that cam. But like mentioned it is always a good idea to clay first. Double and triple check for zero problems.

I'd check it and not risk. My 224 cam ended up with .075 P to V which is tight for a 224 cam. My 5.3's were only supposed to have been cleaned up. In the end my 5.3's had over .020 taken off of them not the .005 they were supposed to have had. Some had decked the head before etc.

Moral of the story is check to be safe.

Mine is a 228/230 with .59x/.59x on a 113 with 5.3L milled 10/1000's. No problems. Had personal assurances from Alan Futral that it would fit with no P/V clearanceissues at all even when I said I had no idea how to clay the heads - lol.

If not milled. I would think you would be ok.., but always check P/V clearance..
