It could be at 80K it just needs new spark plugs, wires, a fuel filter and clean the MAF.

if the fuel filter hasnt been changed regularly that could def be it, all it takes is 1 or 2 tanks of shitty gas...

especially right after the ******* hurricanes, all the gas around here was full of all kinds of **** and I had to change the filter every 3,000 miles

Just a thought was the traction control on? If you couldn't spin the tires in a ls1 there is a problem. Go back make sure the TC is off bring it up to 5000 and drop it.

Could be a number of reason, carbon buildup, sludge from the terrible pcv system on these cars. Loss of compression.... of reason but the red flags are there for a buyer.... I wouldnt buy it unless it was one hell of a sweet deal and you want to work on it.
