Default Good alternative to GMPP ASA cam?

I've got a GMPP ASA cam in the car now 226/236 .525/.525 on a 110lsa. I like the power I get out of it, but sometimes driving it around town in Seattle is a PITA. Also I'm planning on going with nitrous in the near future and heard 110lsa's aren't ideal for dry shots.

Car ran 12.55 @ 113 on all season toyo proxes 4's. I don't mind aggressive cams if they're fairly well behaved most of the time. (oxymoron kinda but I'm sure you know what I mean).

So lemme hear it. I'd like to be comfortably hitting 400+rwhp with room to grow once I get some heads on the motor. Been kicking around the Torquer 2 or MS3, but for me it's not all about straight lines (but that's fun too). I love the choppy idle my car has and don't wanna lose it too much. Heard some good things about LG cams too but dunno what to go with.

Supporting Mods/Car info:
01 WS6 LS1 M6
Factory LS6 intake
Factory Heads
QTP Long tubes/ORY w/ Cutouts
Lid

the ms3 is too big and would be overkill for your mods. you should do a 229/229 .580/.580 114lsa. This a good streetable cam that would put you over the 400 mark and works great on nitrous. I used this cam so it is a proven combo with your supporting mods. good luck.

Have you tried a re-tune? That cam is fairly tame, and shouldn't be that bad.

If he is going to spray it why would you recommend an exhaust duration the same degree as the intake dur.? He needs about 4 degrees more duration on the exhaust side for every 125 worth of the bottle to make it truly efficient. Lift doesn't matter that much on the bottle but dur. does. plus it will help out a good flowing set of heads as well.

228/232 112+4 = G5X1

IMO best compromise for a performance cam with good street manners.

I agree, more exhaust would benefit. I only posted this because I had the same mods as him on my old car and with that cam it worked great.

Thats great that the cam worked well in your combo...I Just saw nitrous and the immediate thought of exhaust duration popped into my mind. As well as a dead on tune.

I'm gonna get it retuned once the motor is back together. I'm gonna see what that does for now but am entertaining the thought of a different cam in the near future.
