Default Can some one post some pics of pulling ls1 from botom with out lift?

I am going to either use a Steel I beam mounted chain hoist or a cherry picker to lift the front of the car up off of the engine, transmission and kmember. I was wanting to know where to hook up to on the front of the car to lift it with out damageing any thing. I would also like to leave the a/c charged if possible. I appreciate any info you guys have.

Did it bend?

Good idea anyway!

I have jacked up the whole car before on my 98

Holy **** I would not do that. And just how the hell did you roll the engine/tranny/k-member out with that engine-lift/cherry picker in the way??

We used a STB as a lift point. After the car was high enough we put it on jackstands and moved the cherry picker out of the way. The k-member was on a dolly so it rolled right out.

I really wasn't planning on putting a strut tower brace on my car. I guess I could look for a good used one just to lift the car with. Any other ideas??

after you unbolt the struts/k-member, bolt the lifting chain to the strut bolts holes

I'm borrowing one from a buddy. I suppose you could bolt the chain through the holes as suggested above.

I know you said pics from the bottom, but I Have to add my .02 on this one. I pulled mine out of the top with this plate in the pic. It was soooo easy. I can't see why anyone would go from the bottom. I have many years of engine pulling under my belt and just can't see why. I didn't even have to take my hood off!

How long dropping it out the bottom?
