Default Would bad spark plugs cause this?

When I'm cruising down the highway and step into the accelerator a little, I can feel the car stumble a little bit/miss/whatever until I step into it a bit more and accelerate much more rapidly.

Check plugs and wires and also your EGR valve. A messed up EGR valve will cause part throttle problems like that.

There was a break in the rubber hose of the PCV on the rear of the engine. I put another piece inline to fix it. I don't see how that could be related in any way.

How can I check the EGR?

a vaccuum leak such as you described can cause this symptom. Also, a stuck or sticking EGR can allow too much exhaust gas into the intake causing the car to run lean which will again cause this problem.

Well, I put the hose inline there. It's fixed. It didn't stumble when there was a break in the PCV line anyway.
