Default Valve Cover Gaskets

Are the stock valve cover gaskets on the ls1 reusable, or should I just buy some new ones for good insurance.

The gm manual says not to re-use them but I think it depends on time and mileage. If you have lots of miles and they haven't been replaced, I would replace them.

I replaced mine, but I had bought the Thunder Racing gasket package and they came with it. I just did it cause I had them.

I would think the worst enemy would be age, so once off just check to see if they are still flexible and soft, if dry or cracking then replace. Like others, mine haave been on and off numerous times.
