Default LQ4 proposed build

Hello all, I am looking at building up an LQ4 (from a yukon, 70k miles on it, aluminum heads) to a target of 500hp.

The way that I was planning on doing it was to go the Car Craft route and get :

L92 Heads
Comp Cams XR281HR
New rocker arms
LS6 Valve Springs

I was hoping to stay EFI

Are there any more cost effective ways that you guys know about to get to around that #? I'd be satisfied with anywhere in the 450-550 range, no bottle.

Also do you think that motor needs any reconditioning at the 70k mark? If so what do you suggest? Thanks

I would go with a different camshaft, and better springs. The engine will be just fine with only 70K on it.

you only need l92 intake rocker arms and pedistals. you can reuse your old exhaust rockers off the heads you have now.

i'd also opt for a better cam and better valvesprings, you can easily make more than 500hp with a bigger/better cam. you'll need headers and an l76/carbed l92 intake, as well.
