Default Torquer v.2 VS 233/239

which one you like? and which one got the rough idle ? I know both got 112 LSA but I found few video's in youtube some Torquer v.2 cam's got rough idle more than 233/239 and the other's are 233/239 are more rough than Torquer v.2 we want to order the package from TSP with springs and pushrods but we want to know which one got the roughest idle the car is 2001 Camaro M6 got full bolt ons and now we need good cam with rough/choppy idle and we cant decide which one to go with the Torquer v.2 or 233/239,help

ug...... buying a cam for sound just erks me. but anyway, it has more to do with the tune how hard it thumps, they will sound almost identical, just depends on how high of a idle rpm and how much timing is in it at idle. if you go open loop at idle then you can fudge the fueling around too, but it all has to jive to make off idle and return to idle smooth.............

It's all in the tune. Here's a vid of my car on the first startup after the cam, my car is nowhere near this now, it's still got a nice lope to it though.

lope comes from overlap. the more over lap the more lope.
the 232/234 112 has 9*
the 233/239 112 has 12*

you need to think about the power band you want. fyi my 232/234 has 13* overlap
mine is a 232/234 110+3 and im shifting at 6500. you need to know what you want from the cam if you dont care and just want sound..get the bigger

To be honest I want him to get the perfect cam for his set up I think I will let him go with Torquer 2 and play with the timing in idle to get the choppy idle he wants

The LS2 timing chain is basically the same stock chain, just new so yes get it since your already in there. I would personally go with the ported LS6 pump, can't go wrong with a better flowing oil system eh?

More than likely one lopes more because the idle is dropped = better tune.

Its all been stated before, but just to reinforce the correct info:

The 233/239 will lope a bit harder all else equal. The idle speed, spark, and fueling will affect the lope.

The T2 will have a little more down low and the 233/239 will have a bit more up top. You can tweak either of these grinds by playing with LSA and advance.

Torquer 2 113+0 in mine, idle pegged @ 900 and love it!! Probably not as choppy as you like though, but it's no slouch down low, and has outperformed 233/239's and MS3's up top!
