Default G1 cam is trashed

i've been hearing this ticking coming from the valvetrain for a little while now so i decided to swap heads and lifters while my car is down, when i pulled the heads i found some pitted lifters as i had suspected, unfortunately the cam was also damaged. sux but at least now i have and excuse for swapping it out. only prob is i have no idea what cam to go with. i have 373s Auto with 3500stall, LS6 intake/heads with some porting, full exhaust.i'm not really interested in going bigger just something that will match what i already have. and i' not worried about emissions or a smooth idle in fact i'd like a choppyer idle BTW this is my DD. any input is appreciated THNX

When you say G1 you mean G5X1?

MTI makes a G1 cam.

It's pretty mid-range, low 230's duration (?) IIRC.

Oh, that's right. I knew it sounded like something I had heard before. If you want something with near the same performance but a choppier idle you can probably pick something up that has a little more positive valve overlap for a more aggressive note.

Match what you have in what way?? You want more peak power? More power under the curve? What are your goals?

In fairness, you did say in your original post that you wanted a "choppyer" idle

Had a Cartek a few years ago and was very happy with it . Been looking at their selection and found somehting that may match your setup .
Here is the link for the cam and click on the 3x cam . It sounds like it matches your gears with an A4 .
