Default Are coil packs/harnesses side specific?

I pulled my covers, coils, brackets apart to clean them. I left the harnesses plugged into the coils but never noted wich side each coil row came off of. Are the coils/harnesses driver/passenger side specific?

I am pretty sure the harness has a specific side.

How else would it know what coil is number 1 vs 2?

engine harness has a plug for odd bank and even bank. But the coil harness itself isn't specific. one plug is labeled 1/8 so you get the right end but side to side doesn't matter.

Makes sense, thanks for clearing that up.

I love the way GM did that. The heads are non-specific along w/ the coil packs. Great design if you ask me!

Are the coil pack wire harness's the same for all years on the F-bodys? Im needing both sides for an 01 motor but dont want to buy the incorrect ones.

I searched the part number sticky but found no coil harness part number.

im kinda in the same boat.
need to know if a 98 coil pack is the same as the rest of the cars.
i would GUESS that the wiring for the 98 cars may be different due to the engine harness is different. i could be wrong.
harness are coil specific. car coil will not interchange with a truck coil. the harness are different between them as well.
