Default n20 and cam car help

1st of there is a lot of info in this section, and im having trouble sorting out what people have had great success with and not.

From what I have read and been told over the phone theres a decent amount of cam grinds out there that will work with n20 on stock heads.

What I am trying for is a 500-550 rwhp car with the spray. I am currently running a 100 shot and once i have more time and money I will upgrade the pump and injectors so i can handle a 150 shot with a cam. "Hoping" to stick in the 400s cam only if that is all possible. The car dynoed no spray at 340rwhp, 338rwtq. On the spray ( 100 shot ) 420rwhp, 450rwtq.

My car currently is a full bolt on m6 with 410s, 2000 LS1 with 241 casting heads untouched. Headers, 2.5 xpiped duals dumped, UD pulley, LS6 intake, ported TB... i think thats about it

Now for the questions What is best for a cam spec for n20 on stock heads? Do I want to look for a larger exh duration than intake or the opposite. Ive been told a 231 intake, 234 exhuast cam would be good, also a 231, 238 would be good. Do these sound right for this? I am just worried about getting a cam that "will" work but not as well as something I could of purchased.

Something off the shelf that someone makes would be prefferable for me, but if it looks like i need a custom grind let me know so I can go down that avenue. Thanks

if its cam car only dont go for big cams unless you are begging for some pain and hassels , secrets for fast and good all around car is with the combo not with SIZE .
so lookin for cams such these is what you need for a CAM car only with spray :
TR 224-224 114 ( i tried this one my self was perfect)
MTI G1 228-232 113 (friend of mine tried it was fine with 125 shot)
Vengeance 224/228 .581/.588 114 LSA (work well with N2O) ( my recommendation)
or you can just go louder and stouter and go bigger but not better of course like :
LG G5x1 114 or X2 as max . speedinc SI15
these cams is what i recommend from my short experince and my close friend experince too , and there is no BEST parts when its come to modding ,and dont go blind with big cams numbers like 23x-24x it just gonna sink your performance and what you gonna get is just a dyno cheet with big number with unuseable power !!! i had bad experince my self with that .
so good luck with it and i hope you get what you want .

Thats a good point, peak numbers are just that. Overall power is what i need to look at more so and also i forgot to add i do DD this car. Granted i work like 3 miles away from home but it is still driven on a daily basis.

I was actually justlooking at a 228 232 cam.

Thanks for the input

Let me also add on this what I have run the car in the 1/4
12.8 at 110.8 MPH no spray
12.5 at 117 MPH on spray
Yes i need to learn to launch my car

Also something I would like to know which i stated in the 1st post. With a cam and n20 car, on the cam is it better to have a higher seperation of intake and exhaust? say a 231-238 vs a 231-234?

Doesn't really matter. Your goals are well within reach. I have an almost identical setup as you: '00 M6, LS6 intake, PS LTs, ORY, eCutout, UDP, and Torquer 2 cam (232/234 .595"/.598" 112LSA). I put down 400/371 to the wheels. I plan on running a 150 wet shot through a plate. You should upgrade your fuel pump and if you're going with a wet shot your stock injectors should do just fine on stock heads. I can't wait to spray my car but I'm saving up for an S60 with 3:90s first.

if you are planing for a big shot a higher seperation of intake and exhaust is more identical for a spray .
but in your case you dont have to worried at all you can run the flat or split cams with no problems its just about your tuner and how good is he of handling a spray car .
but i heard a lot about the vengenace cam the 224-228 and how it work extremly well with spray and can put around 400hp in N/A mode ! .
just dont get rush ,take your time selecting a cam .
