Default Little confused on cam lift..

Ok.. So I have a Trex in my forged Shortblock. I have ran the cam ect. and it makes great power. I know it is supposed to have .610/.612 lift on a 108/112. When I put a dial indacator on the retainer in line with the valve, at 108 on the intake I get a gross lift of .475-.476 and at 112 on the exhaust I get a gross lift of .486-.487. To me this would be the total lift the valve is seeing.

The only thing I can think that might be throwing the numbers ascue would be the lifters bleeding down so I tried it on #6 as it would be in phase with #1 and I wouldn't need to re-setup the wheel. Same numbers.

According to the cam card, it should have .3586 total cam lift on the intake and .36143 on the exhaust. For that to be right, based on my dial indacator readings, I would have roughly a 1.32-1.34 rocker ratio.

Next would be to pull the cam out and mic the lobes to see gross lobe lift.

But what am I missing here. I know there is something real stupid I am over looking.

even with a plunger travel of 0.06" , you still would not attain the 0.610 lift

for another data point set your dial on the end of the pushrod

Thats a good idea. With the rocker off and the dial indacator on the pushrod end, I should be to get total lobe lift with out pulling the cam, or very close..

I've seen it run at Sac and it moves out well. You are right about not being fooled with those tires
