I bought used ARPs for this reason too so what is the torque procedure when thay arent TTY bolts? not to hijack but i feel its a good related question

I think it may depend on if they are bolts, or studs with nuts, and I would bet you could possibly find the info on ARP's site? Or worse case doing a general search on here.

www.ls1howto.com in the head swap part should maybe give you some direction.

^^^ I've used/use the studs and they are re-usable.


The bolt number is 134-3609 for 2003 and earlier and 134-3610 for 2004 and later

Just got off the phone with ARP so more guesses... drum roll please..... YES they are re-usable same as the studs.

I would think you would torque them the same as stock bolts eccept you can use them again because they dont strech.

No they have specific torque points! The OEM are TTY, you stretch them when you install them.

I used torque values recommended by ARP. Head studs were 45, 55 and 65 with supplied ARP moly. I just got a set of ARP main studs 234-5608 for a stroker build and supplied instructions recommend 60 inner, 50 outer and 20 for the horizontal bolts, using the supplied moly. If tightened dry, unplated fasteners consume about 80% of the applied torque just to overcome the thread friction.
