Default 5.3L LM7 Cam Selection

Hey Everyone,

Ive got a 2004 5.3L LM7 In my 1989 Camaro Iroc-z.

Im looking to boost the output of the motor a fair bit, and im thinking a cam is my best bet to do so.

Here's Current mods:
LS6 Intake
Ported TB
Stainless works LT Headers installed w/ Cam
PRC Valve Springs
LS2 Timing Chain

Im looking for a choppy & Rough idle, with a peak between 6200 - 6600rpm.

Ive been looking at the MS3 Cam, as i have intentions of dropping the 5.3L Block & buying a new 6.0L Block w/ L92 heads/L76 intake next year.

I figure i can then transfer the MS3 cam over & use it in the new engine.

My Driveline is:
4L60e (Will be installing a Stall Convertor with the cam)
3.73 Geared 10 bolt

Im hoping to get 350 - 370 rwhp, with the cam, headers, intake, catback, tune.

Appreciate all input. Its suppost to be a fun car, so milage and street manners are not priority. Im hoping the cam can be transferred to a new 6.0L Block with the new heads/intake when it comes time to upgrade.

Sheldon

ms3 cam is way to big and u are going to need bigger gears and a big stall for it if u want a great cam for the 5.3 motors i would go with a 220/220 for TSP or TR either works great and would produce great power in a 5.3

Ive run an LPE gt2-5 in a 5.3 works well with compression 10.5:1 and up, the lm7 has lower compression unless you've made mods that aren't listed. That cam would perform well with that setup.
