Default No oil pressure after 408 swap

Just finished up my LQ9 408 swap in my 2001 ws6 and im getting no oil pressure on the gague. I figured it was the sending unit, took off the intake manifold and had the knock sensors unplugged, put everything back together and still no oil pressure. Went and got a autometer electric oil pressure gague, broke my old sending unit installing the autometer, the auto meter didnt read anything (figured may have wired something wrong kinda rigged it). Installed a new sending unit by itself and it still doesnt read. The stock gauge works becuase when i had it unplugged it just pegged the gauge out. I took off the oil filter and turned it over for a few seconds and it was definatly getting pressure down there, but for some reason its still not reading. Any suggestions?

Did you put the bar bell in the back of the motor?

Its the little plastic peace that looks like a bar bell and it goes behind the rear cover so if not you have to remove the trans and fly wheel hope this helps.

Most builders install the oil plugs and do that stuff for you, call who ever you bought it from and ask. Was it a vendor or a garage sale that someone put together themselves ?

The motor was built by a shop, I got a call and they said they installed them. I opened the plug above the oil filter to see if i could see the barbell (or dumbell if you wanna call it) and I saw that. No oil came out as i unscrewed it. I was getting pressure comming out of the filter when i cranked it. i also pulled the "Plate" held by two 10mm bolts above the oil filter to make sure the previous owner didnt put a mechanical gauge there and it wasnt sealing, but that was fine and oil came out of it as i unscrewed it. Im getting 0 oil pressure still on the gauges. Any other suggestions? Im thinking maybe the freeze plug.

if the barbell and plug is in, then the only other thing is the bypass in the oil pump is stuck open. i've had that happen.

When you spaced the windage tray, the pick up tube isnt bottomed out on the bottom of the pan is it?

Also check the O-ring that goes on the pickup tube where it bolts to the oil pump to make sure its there or if it is make sure its in there correctly and not pinched.
