They were decked to 62CC but no extra cleanup, flycut pistons and Cometics..Ported Fast,PTB,Kooks,No Cats,LM1,Pulley and Stat..It made the power,we were suprized too but IMO its way to radical to be a DD.....

I'm interested in this question too. Thinking about going bigger cam, not too worried about drivability as its no longer my daily driver.

AFR 205's would be a great match for a 383. Friend is running them on his stroker and runs high 10's w/ a M6. In fact I have future plans of re-using my 205's on a 402 build at some point. Might sacrifice a little top end but it will have a great curve.

It sounds like the tune needs some work if it is that unfriendly. People run that cam with stock heads, and with the addition of some nice heads coupled with extra compression, drive-ability should only increase.

MS4 + AFR 205 milled to 60cc + 150shot = SICK SETUP.

But since your on stock bottom you need a great tuner and you also need to flycut of course.

If you wanted 383ci then go with AFR 225 Tony Momo personal car made 530+rwhp
with custom grind cam by him and Ported 90/90 setup also ported by him.

I think you're putting your definition of "driveability" in the mouth of the people who DO run that cam and call it "driveable." A cam with that much overlap is going to surge in a 346, I don't care who tunes it, it's not going to drive like stock. There are a lot of perspectives on "driveability" don't assume everyone means the same thing when they say it. To some, it's driveable if they can manage to get it down the street.

6th gear doesn't count.. my grandma can tune a car to putz along in 6th gear. How is it in 1st gear idling around at 1000-1200 rpm? or idling around a parking lot IN GEAR?

Running an MS4 here. Idles fantastically at 900RPM. I drive it in stop and go traffic several times a week with no surging or bucking while creeping along at under 5 MPH. Other than the noise level and idle lope it really does drive quite well.

I was told the small bore AFR 225s would be a good set-up for a 383. I wish I had those or the trickflow 215s...
