I did the 04 LS6 cam and really liked it (at first). There is no differance in driveability untuned and you dont know its there until you get into it. pulls reeally nice up top but there are better cams out there, and I did mine because I got it out of a new ls6 so it was free, I dont know if I would pay for that cam though. There are better, I am not being the ******* thats says search but it would save you some money.

Yes a zo6 cam isn't to far from a stock cam but I heard its more powerful I was wondering by how much because my Uncle 2004 zo6 is being up graded to a 224 cam and afr heads and I will be getting his old zo6 heads and cam.

You'll still need his yellow valve springs or a mild aftermarket set. If its cheap and you have time to burn, I say go for it. It's an easy 30rwhp over the stock stuff.

Hey Ryan you mean 30 from the cam are from the cam and the heads.
I found out the springs are Yella terra what ever that means.

25-30rwhp from just the cam should be attainable. If you are getting his stock 243s with titanium valves, I'd think you would be in the 50rwhp+ range assuming you have an LS6 intake. Why would he swap the stock springs for Yella Terras? ...Unless he means he swapped the roller rockers.

Yeah, roller rockers. 1.8 ratio would give him slightly more cam lift over the stock 1.7 in order to gain a couple more horse power. If the combo is cheap/free, I'd do it. If anything, keep the heads and sell the cam in order to help pay for part of a custom one. The numbers in my sig are with a stock LS6 intake and heads with a custom cam.

most of the sheets i have seen say the z06 cam will make no more then 20rwhp. I have done a good amount of research on this and i would not expect 25+ out of it. 01+ cars will get a few more because of the smaller cam in them vs. the earlier models have a slightly larger one. And on a mostly stock car ls6 heads should be good for about 15rwhp. I have no personal expierence just lots of reading on here.

If you are installing it yourself, than what the heck. Why not. I was going to have 243 heads and ls6 cam installed in my t/a.After a lot of reaserch, I figured that it was a lot of money on the install for not much gain.I wanted a very streetable car.I am having a 224/
224 561/561 115 cam installed and some 317 heads (milled to 62cc + ported + extras).I have all the supporting mods. It's your car and you have to be happy it.Their are better cams than that one.I would think about your choices carefully. Just my thoughts.Selling the cam might be a good idea.

Is there much of a difference between an '02 Z06 cam and an '04 because I'm probably investing in an '02 cam.

Did you say you are keeping the stock manifolds?
If so, sell the LS6 cam and get a custom grind or somthing like the TR cheatr cam.

I don't have 'before' numbers, but my mostly stock '01 LS1, with a lid, SLP Y-pipe, cat-back and a '02 ZO6 cam and yellow springs dyno'd 332 RWHP and 346 RWTQ

I wanted GM reliability, and emissions-legal. I got the cam cheap, so did it- My '01 already has the LS6 intake- no complaints- if I was going to get it cheap, why not, but, if I was spending money, I would probably go for more cam-
