Default Top Dead Center

First of all sorry for all the questions and i really appreciate the help. When finding top dead center do i have to remove the spark plugs and how much room is there for error when doing this to keep the valves from falling?

There is plenty of room for error. Just insert a plastic straw in the spark plug hole (you holding the other end of course) and rotate the crank until the straw is pushed out and just starts to drop. You are now at TDC. Your valves will only drop about 1/4-3/8" with piston at TDC so if you are off just a little it won't matter.
