Question LS6 intake swap

I am swapping the 98 LS1 intake for a LS6 intake. The intake seems to fit just without any problems. I have seen on this and other forums that I should buy different coolant hoses and blocks for this conversion. Is it needed ? Why ? Thanks,

You can buy the kit from a sponsor

You can grind the ribs off the bottom of the intake or you can flatten the LS1 coolant tube with a hammer

I wouldn't suggest the throttle body bypass mod when swapping out intakes. By taking out the steam tubes, it can make the #7 cylinder run hotter...Just grind down the ribs on the bottom of the intake...

grind down the tabs, saves you 30-40 bucks and lets things run the way they are supposed to

TB Bypass? I think you mean dont block the coolant holes in the back of the heads (ie getting the ls6 coolant lines), I agree just grind the tabs off the bottom of the LS6 and slap it on, its what I did.
