you CAN spin it to like 72-7300. But i dont know how long itll last at that. My limiter was 7k, and i shifted at 6800.

decently reliable to 6600 rpms. anything more and you are waiting for disaster. some folks are ok with it. i shifted at 7000 rpms but eventually (like everyone) spun a rod bearing.

most i've seen was somewhere around 8k rpm before it streched a rod. stock 01 bottom end, rod bolts still in tact when the motor was disassembled. granted, this was not on purpose. was a t-rex car that had trans. problems on the bottle...apparently blew past the 7,400 limiter. computer showed soemthing like 7,900 rpm reached before it started to wind down and that's when it went boom. kinda cool. saw some pieces of a rod in the throttlebody heh.

I have the limiter set at 6800 on my 136,000 mile stock bottom end and it has lasted so far.

6600 isn't shabby at all. I'm used to the lt1 where anything past 6k is asking for trouble.

I have been shifting at 7000rpm for 2 years now with a 7200rpm limiter. 67K miles on the bottom end.

On the street, it rarely sees more then 3500 LOL

Six Speeds Inc spun their stock bottom end to 7600/7800 repeatedly when they went 10.1 with H/C/I
