Default cam head decision help

ive got two cams that im interested in but open to others

one is the known reputable tr 224 on a 112 and the other is a guy i know that build ls motors locally specs on it are 228/233 560/575 on a 114 lsa

he also has a set of ls6 cnc ed heads with ss valve and dual springs that will go on with either

my car is pretty stock 02 ls1 camaro just 1 3/4 kooks with a magnaflow( which may change to something like a tsp dual set up that i will make) 4.10 (10 bolt) , ls7 clutch ,fipk, and i will also tune it.

also doing the go to with it ls2 chain , oil pump and underdrive.

i dirve my car about 300 miles a week to and from work and there is some low rpm luggin on the freeways .

im honestly looking for power and will scarifice some but i want a nice choppy idle and would like 425+ rwhp.

PM Patrick G, he'll custom grind you a very nice cam to your liking! Unlike your second cam listed (much duration/not so much lift) he has almost perfected the low duration/high lift cams that make TONS of power and drive exceptionally well. Out of your two listed I'd prefer the TR224, very reputable DD cam on here!!

I agree on the Patrick G. cams.

If you are just looking for off the shelf parts, there are plenty tried and proven cam/head combos out there to easily make 425. Just look right for the sponsors or do a search which is a better tool than any to help you gather results from others setups and what worked and what didn't work for them.

My engine just went in my car today. I should have it back by Thursday. I had the TR224 112lsa and cnc port valve job Ls6 heads installed. I also had the underdrive pulley, port and polishd throttle body installed. I have a 411 gears and I am getting the car dyno tuned next week. When the car goes to get tuned I am installling the new style cobra injectors. I bought them from NEW ERA, I think they may still be on sale. I will post my numbers next week.

For the most part my set up is the same for the TR224 cam as you are looking at.

I am running the stock pump. The injectors are just plug and play. I did not want to max the stock ones out.

ok well i have pretty much made up my mind i went with a patrick g cam and ported ls6 heads.

is the stock fuel pump going to work or not , i really need to a for sure yes or no . i dont need dropping fuel press resulting in inconsistant afr's. i want to do it right i need this thing reliable.

i also need a good recomendation on injectors i want the svo green tops but would like something a little less expensive. i think the green tops may be a bit overkill but dont no for sure. id like my idc to be about 90%.
