Default LQ4 Help

I just got my hands on a free LQ4 bare block. I'm wondering about the internals though. Would it be best for me to go stock or stuff in LS series internals? Also if going with the LS then which crank rods and pistons do I need? I've been told to use the LS1 crank with LS2 pistons and rods but the guy sounded really unsure. I plan on running a F.A.S.T. intake with 90mm throttle body, AFR 205 heads, and a nice cam with this setup in hopes of making 500 hp. Of course the 36lb injectors and fuel system to match as well. Also I have the computer out of the truck the block came out of. Can I use this or would it be best to get a standalone engine management system?

Alright, I think I might have answered my own question. I just priced what it would take to turn this into a short block on gmpartsdirect.com and came up with $1970.75. Or I can just bore the block 0.030 over and order a 408 stroker kit for $2200. I know it's a little more but let's be honest with ourselves, there's no replacement for displacement.

you can find LQx stock rods/pistons assemblies for <$150 in the for sale forum. i would take that route, honestly. buy a stock crank for $125 and now you're ready to let the asswhipping begin - stock shortblock style. unless you plan on a 250 shot or 7200+ rpm, the stock short will be fine.

just fyi. lq9 pistons are flat-top and lq4 pistons have a -6.5cc dish.
