Default couple questions on this set up

I'm looking to order a heads/cam/intake set up. I'm going to run a vrx3 cam, but am between trick flow 215's,afr 205's, or etp 215's for the set up. Also should i have them milled to incress the compression a little, or would i have to flycut the pistons if i milled them at all. I will be pairing the set up with a ported fast 90/90. The car currently has a 3k stall in it and am unsure if i'm going to upgrade the stall at this time or just run the car how it is. Is the cam a little to much for that stall also, i'd say its a little on the bigger side for now but seeing what the experts think

The TFS 215's and the VRX3 would be a great combination in a street car and yield some good track times. I wouldn't be afraid of more stall speed, with todays converters, converter lag is almost inexistent.
You always want to check piston the valve clearance with any setup you do when milling heads. Depending on how far you plan to go I would guess you would be ok without a flycut.
Either way you decide to go on the heads let me know as we are a dealer for TFS, AFR and ETP.

I would throw the WCCH 215cc Edelbrocks into the hat as well. Just another choice and fits between the price ranges.

etp's run a 11 degree valve angle, which give u more options at choosing a cam, i have mine milled .040 giving em about a 12.5cr with a 56cc chamber,et performance told me even at these numbers i still have more clearance than a stock head, these etp 215's are a work of art.

Well I'm leaning towarda smaller cam. The VRX3, and have to run 91 octane down here so wont be able to go crazy to a 12.5cr, but would like a low to mid 11 cr. Just not sure with that cam etp, afr, tfs, or those elderbrooks blannco mentioned. I guess there is a night and day dif between those heads and a reg say prc ls6 set head

Tough choice, I think Darts need to be on the list as well but that doent help you..LOL

The TFS will require aftermarket rockers, so thats an added expense to think about. The Edelbrocks and AFR's do not, not sure about the ET and Darts, guessing the Darts do not, not sure about the ET's.

Usually the aftermarket head is of better design.

thanks i appriciate the help, i'm leaning towards afr 205s, fast 92, and vrx3. I'd be tempted to check out the wcch heads but cant find much about them. Finally what else do i need with the afr's (pushrods, springs, retainers, etc or do they come with the heads already). Speaking of which love the coil relocations i got from you a couple months back....will i have to move them if i go with certain heads lol just thought of that.

No the coils will be fine, I ran them with AFR's in the exact location you have them. You won't go wrong with AFR's, the Edelbrocks are new. Not to many people have taken the dip so there is limited info on them out there. I'd cut you a sweet deal on them if you wanted to check them out, just so I can get some results from them.... good or bad..LOL

http://www.proheads.com/WCCH%20215.html

http://airflowresearch.com/205_mongoose.php

The flow very similar to the AFR, the above link was done on a 4.030 bore the AFR's were flowed with a 3.90 bore so if you sized down the bore on the Edelb's it would be very similar.

Both heads feature 66cc combustion chambers. You can mill for more compression as well, but honestly if you are going with AFR's I would have Tony Mamo spec a custom cam for them or go with the Mamocam... 224/228

Most heads will come with a spring package already installled, you have the option of upgrading them at the time you purchase them in most cases.
You will need pushrods, check with who your getting the cam from for the size you need.

I have a Vrx4 which is a "TAD" bigger, just go with that. 100% Streetable, and absolutely a blast to drive.

One should always check clearences but that cam is smallish and the tolerence are not as critical as lets say a MS4/T-rex
