If you really wanted you could have them milled to make sure they are really flat. As long as they are I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Not to bad. I'd be pissed on the packing attempt though. Who in the hell uses packing peanuts and not wrap the heads in plastic? Was this from an individual or a shop?

After seeing that pic by the exhaust chamber I woud suggest a milling. You would hate to have to go through teardown again for something so simple like a mill.

Dude, you should try to get UPS to pay for your heads. I'm serious as a heart attack about that. Either way though though they look like they'd probably be fine even as is. A milling can't hurt though and its probably a good idea.

I would do as the others suggested and take them to a machine shop to have them possibly milled and checked out. I had some heads pressure checked not too long ago, turns out one had a small crack and would not hold pressure. Who knows what kind of damage there could be from the knuckle draggers at UPS tossing your heads around...

Yeah get those things milled a lil. That little ding would cause pre-ignition in that cylinder

You can get the surfaces welded and then milled to make sure they are true. The welding will allow you to keep the chamber size very close to its current size.

I had a similar issue (damage to the sealing surfaces - indents - from a packaging mistake) and had the indents filled by welding and then milled. The end result was only about 0.003" was removed keeping the chamber size close to original and still close enough to the other head to be good.

The head turned out great and have had zero issues with sealing - I use a 0.041" Fel-pro gasket.

THAT was their repackage? They just as well shouldn't have put them in any box, just let 'em slap around the back of the truck like marbles in a coffee can. Glad to hear all seems to be well though.
