do i need diff. heads if i go from a 346 too a 422? im thinking about heads for my car, and am thinking about a set a 5.3 liter heads. My question obviously is, will these heads work down the road if i was to build a 422 or 434? Or should i just get 5.7 liter heads?

Re: do i need diff. heads if i go from a 346 too a 422? jeff, I believe bore size will be a problem, i doubt you will have a 3.9 bore on a 434 and you cant have a stg3 head on a stock bore, but Im not sure, contact some of the sponsors. you have absolute speed local to you in new york and jpr jersey, there is also tea and patriot but there not in your area

My opine is down the road you will need to get the heads reworked for the big bore.You could start with a good set of Stage 2,6 Litres,LS6 or 5.7s.Call Jay at Absolute or JPR[local]and get some ideas as to what it will cost for the heads and a price when you need to get them refreshed.

Re: do i need diff. heads if i go from a 346 too a 422? I have a related question as I have a set of LS6 cores sitting waiting to be sent off. I'm thinking about MTI, FMS, JPR or... stg 2s. Then if I go big bore upgrading to a stg 3 big valves. How much $ and work is it for the extra work to the heads?
