Having a new motor built. Have a couple questions. Long story short, went to the track with my new slicks, the clutch/pressure plate grenaded and took out my tranny, bellhousing, headers, engine block and various underhood components, and wiring. Within the next month I am having ARE build me a 382 all bore. My questions are if I can get an LS6 block for $6-700, is it worth it and is it any stronger than an LS1? Also I was thinking about using a set of LS6 heads, are they worth the extra money over a set of LS1's on a big bore motor. Thanks.

I would definitely go with the LS6 block and Thermal coat EVERYTHING.

Re: Having a new motor built. Have a couple questions. Rob, LS6 block has improved PCV channels. Not so sure how much more power you can get out of LS6 heads vs how much more it costs.
