Default wierd exhaust noise

just installed ls2 heads, long tube headers/ory, pac beehive valvesprings and i'm getting a weird noise from the exhaust. it's sort of an intermittent ticking noise. i don't know a ton about these engines so wondering if someone has had this. i'm wondering if it's a valve opening too early or something? i have NO idea and not sure where to start.

i've had O2 codes coming from all 4 (the 2 back ones are cause i don't have sims) ranging from high voltage/ low voltage/ slow to respond.

mods include the heads/exhaust/hpp3/portedpolished maf sensor...

thanks

I might have had this same problem.. does the ticking sound get faster as the rpm level increases?

Same ticking here. My valve train is completely stock but as the rpms increase so does this ticking. I almost think it could be valve lash between the rocker tips and the valve stems.

it's a random noise and it's worse at idle. i had a mechanic quick listen to it and he said it might be the spark timing because i didn't get it tuned yet and i now have headers and heads.... i'll see what i can do about getting a vid

i would check all of your header bolts first and see if they are tight...it is always a good idea after a header install to snug them up after a couple of days...that would be the first place I would look..good luck!

put your foot on the exhaust pipes to see if the rattling stops.

Have you thrown a MAF senor code as well? The only reason I ask is it might be a blown Eng. Sen. fuse which controls the O2's and the MAF. If thats blown is screws up everything. Happened to me.

Check if your spark plugs are loose. I used to have a ticking noise that would accelerate with the rpms and give me misfire codes.... I ended up having a loose spark plug. Sometimes it's just something simple causing serious symptoms.

Could be wrong; but it's probably a random misfire code with it blinking. I'd check all the plugs and wires to start with. Good luck and let us know what you find.
